2017 Ones To Watch #11 – Get Inuit

Get Inuit

With 2016 over, we look ahead to what musical talent 2017 can offer, and with the masses of acts out there in the industry there is plenty for us to get excited about. Throughout January, ICM will be highlighting one new band each day and showing just why they should be on your music radar. Our 11th band is Get Inuit.

Get Inuit have started to find their place in the current scene, after releasing 3 singles; including ‘On and On’ and ‘Teriyaki’. They bagged support slots for Slaves, VANT and Spring King, which has given them a platform to showcase their cheerful yet raucous sound. ‘Teriyaki’ was described as ‘Gut-busting’ by the band themselves.

In 2016, Get Inuit have been one of BBC Introducing Kent’s Favourites and consequently they have picked up some serious play time and headlined at BBC Introducing in Kent’s 8th Birthday Party and are now leading the charge of emerging bands from Kent. Not only have they been noticed by the Local Radio but BBC Radio 1 DJs Annie Mac and Huw Stephens and were tipped as their New Names to watch out for list.

They have already released a single in 2017 ‘Barbiturates’, which has already accumulated around 50,000 listens. However, they haven’t explicitly said that any new music is coming but in an interview they told us they are going ‘to go with the flow’ but we are expecting some sensational singles from Get Inuit.

We will be announcing a new band every day throughout the entirety of January and the ICM long list will be announced on February 1st.
